Summary
In a costs assessment judgment dated 27 October 2022, the Qatar International Court reviewed the claim by Fadi Sabsabi for legal costs incurred in his case against Devisers Advisory Services LLC. Despite both parties being unrepresented at trial, Sabsabi submitted invoices from Sharq Law Firm for professional fees totaling QAR 120,000. The Defendant contested these claims, arguing they were unaware of legal representation, lacked supporting documentation, and were disproportionate. A hearing was held where Sabsabi affirmed the costs and explained the fixed-fee arrangement with the firm. The court examined both parties' submissions and evidence.
