Summary
In a judgment dated 26 December 2022, the Qatar International Court ordered Meinhardt BIM Studios LLC to pay QAR 46,714.00 plus 5% annual interest from 18 April 2022 to Shaikh Akhil Omer, a former employee, for arrear remuneration. The claimant was self-represented, and the defendant was unrepresented. The court noted this was the tenth similar claim against the defendant and criticized their strategy of delaying payments to former employees, effectively using court proceedings to gain interest-free loans. Reasonable costs incurred by the claimant in pursuing the claim are also recoverable from the defendant.
