Through its supervisory arbitrational jurisdiction under Law No 2 of 2017 issuing the Arbitration Law in Civil and Commercial Matters, parties can elect the QICDRC as the “Competent Court” of arbitration to perform various functions in relation to interim measures, enforcement of awards and appeals.

Summary
In a judgment dated 10 July 2022, the Qatar International Court ordered Neptune Food Packaging and Trading WLL to pay QAR 130,555 to Foodino Trading QFZ LLC within seven days and declared the agreement between the parties dated 3 August 2021 validly terminated. Foodino had paid Neptune a 50% advance for packaging services, which Neptune failed to deliver as per the agreement. Neptune did not respond to Foodino’s breach allegations or the court proceedings. The court also awarded reasonable costs to Foodino but denied additional compensation due to lack of evidence.
