Through its supervisory arbitrational jurisdiction under Law No 2 of 2017 issuing the Arbitration Law in Civil and Commercial Matters, parties can elect the QICDRC as the “Competent Court” of arbitration to perform various functions in relation to interim measures, enforcement of awards and appeals.

Summary
The Qatar Financial Centre Civil and Commercial Court ruled that Stephen Ferris, the Applicant, is to be paid $40,000 in costs by Sanguine Investment Managers LLC and Christopher John Leach, the Respondents, who were found in contempt of court for failing to comply with an asset disclosure order and making false representations. Despite being given the opportunity, the Respondents did not respond to the costs claim. The court rejected the Applicant's request for indemnity costs but deemed the $40,000 reasonable and proportionate. The ruling was made by Registrar Umar Azmeh on August 19, 2024.
